Two months to go!

Well, we have reached the two month mark from my due date. Boy, how time flies! I cannot believe I am almost 32 weeks along. Since my last blog in October, our little sweet pea has grown considerably and moves like crazy. My belly seems to have grown exponentially. I promise to post a pic of me soon for everyone to see.

Let's see... our lives have been filled with feeling the baby move and seeing her move. We try to distinguish which part of her we are feeling, but it is hard! We also settled on a name for our little girl- Julia Marie Hagood (well, Hagood obviously!) Baby Julia continues to grow, as she should, and my doctor comments how great my pregnancy has been going. I was tested for Gestational Diabetes and Anemia about a month ago, and happily found out I do not have either. We had our first baby showers, which were fun and overwhelming. My sister-in-law and two best friends threw us a shower at the beginning of December and my colleagues at work gave us a book shower. So, now the nursery is filled with books for Baby Julia to enjoy and lots of clothes and necessities. Now, if we can just get the crib built...life is so crazy and hectic!

Andrew and I feel so blessed to have some many people around us who care about us! What a great time of the year to be REALLY pregnant! It makes me emotional thinking about it, but its really amazing being pregnant around Christmastime and thinking about what Christmas is truly about. WOW!

Looking ahead to the following weeks, I just anticipate getting bigger. Lots to do still to get ready for our little girl! We're in the midst of taking Childbirthing classes (lots of information...), developing our birth plan, etc. It'll be here before we know it. Merry Christmas everyone!

Halfway There!

Hello all! Well, I have officially reached the halfway mark of my pregnancy. Actually, I have now surpassed it and am at 5 1/2 months pregnant. I cannot believe how fast things are going. We had a doctor's appointment last week and got to see Baby Sweet Pea (that's what we call her)once again. Boy, is she growing! The doctor said everything looks good and that we no longer need to see the specialist to monitor her heart. She is growing like she should and everything looks perfect! Andrew and I even got to record some of the sonogram, so now we have short clip of her sonogram.

To top things off, sheis moving a lot and Andrew and I can both feel her from the outside. We think Andrew has felt her move twice, but this past Thursday he felt her for sure. She loves her daddy! Here are the latest pictures of our little one. Stay tuned for more later!

Sonogram Pics

As promised, here are two sonogram pictures from my last sonogram. At the time I was 16 weeks.
Boy, lots has been going on since I last 'blogged!' I've started showing, which is very exciting. I now have a little tummy, as some of my kids at the school I work at have affectionately named it. I get lots of pats and rubs on my tummy. This baby is already so very loved!

Andrew and I have had some scares with this little one too. We found out at our first trimester screening that I had a protein in my blood that can be correlated with down syndrome. Needless to say, we were both very worried and went through with an amnio to know definitively if there was anything 'wrong' with our little one. At the amnio they found another potential down marker, which only worried us more. The doctor also commented she wants to keep an eye on the baby's heart, so we are scheduled for regular sonograms. She wasn't dissatified with what she say, but the heart at 16 weeks is so tiny (the size of a pinhead), she just wants to watch it. The two weeks we waited for the amnio results seemed like the longest two weeks of our lives! Thankfully, we found out our baby is perfectly normal, which was a HUGE relief. Thanks to all of you who were praying for us! We also found out we are having a baby girl! Andrew and I were really wanting a boy, but have warmed up to the idea of having a daughter. Ultimately, we were just happy everything was okay with her.

So, now our days have been filled with thinking about names, registering for the necessities and lots of other things, and I have started feeling our little one move, which is a strange and beautiful feeling! She is quite the active baby. Everytime we see her in a sonogram, she is bouncing around like a little jumping bean. I look forward to others being able to feel her as well. Currently, I am 4 1/2 months pregnant (almost 19 weeks). I hope to post pics of my last sonogram later this evening. Check back soon!

Welcome to our blog!

Andrew and I are finally going high tech and joining the ranks of bloggers! With a baby on the way and our family expanding, I thought this would be a good way to share our lives with friends and family. Originally I created a myspace account, but this was a much easier way to keep in touch with everyone. I hope you will check in often. :)
